Dangerous Goods – Using the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (DGUTI EN)

This course provides State employees with the knowledge and skills required to determine when a consignment of dangerous goods is classified, packed, marked, labelled, documented, accepted, handled and transported in accordance with Annex 18 and the Technical Instructions.

Course Objectives

  • Identify, classify, pack, mark, label and document dangerous goods in accordance with the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (Doc 9284).
  • Understand the legal obligations related to the transport of dangerous goods by air;
  • Identify whether appropriate emergency response information can be correctly extracted from the Emergency Response Guidance for Aircraft Incidents Involving Dangerous Goods (Doc 9481).

2: Hazard Class Definitions and Classification Procedures

3: Use of the Dangerous Goods

   4: Packing Requirements

5; Package Marking and Labelling

6: Dangerous goods transport document and other relevant documentation

7: Operators and Cargo Acceptance

8; Infectious Substances*

9: Radioactive Material*

10: Dangerous Goods in Limited Quantities and Dangerous Goods in Excepted Quantities

11: Provisions for Passengers and Crew

12: Emergency Procedures.
